Configuration
When you install and activate the plugin, it will guide you through a series of questions for basic configuration. Just follow the prompts and provide your answers to get started quickly and easily.
Click Next for the first question.

The second question will prompt you to schedule a scan for file changes on your website. I recommend selecting the Daily option for optimal security monitoring.

The third question will ask whether to monitor WordPress core files. I recommend enabling this option to ensure comprehensive security tracking.

The fourth question asks where you’d like to receive notifications — either to the admin email or a developer’s email. Choose the option that best suits your workflow.

The fifth question asks when the plugin should send you email notifications. Choose the option that aligns with your security needs, such as after every scan or only for critical changes.

The sixth question asks which files and directories the plugin should ignore during scans. Exclude non-essential files such as cache directories, backup folders, or any other files that don’t impact your website’s security.

The seventh question asks which specific file(s) the plugin should ignore during scans. Exclude files such as temporary logs, or custom files that are frequently updated.

The eighth question asks which group of files the plugin should ignore during a scan. You can choose to ignore groups like media files (images, videos), plugin assets (CSS, JS), or theme assets if they are not relevant to your security monitoring.

The ninth question asks which directories should be excluded from the scan. You can exclude directories like wp-content/cache, wp-content/uploads, or wp-content/backups that typically contain non-sensitive files and don’t require constant monitoring.

The tenth question asks how much scan data you’d like the plugin to retain. I personally recommend keeping the last 3 scan reports, as this provides a good balance between monitoring changes and maintaining performance without storing excessive data.

That’s all! The plugin will ask these 10 questions, and once you’ve answered them, you can be confident that your site is now more secure. You’ve taken the necessary steps to monitor file changes and protect your WordPress site effectively.
